Completing your multisport course requirements

Competition Introduction Certification:

Expected completion time for Competition Introduction course requirements can range from 3-6 months depending on the courses required, the availability and timing of courses. This timeline can be shortened if the coach opts to take their courses via home study (recommended only for those with independent learning styles and unpredictable schedules).

Competition Development Certification:

Expected completion time for Competition Development course requirements can range from 6-18 months depending on the courses required, the availability and timing of courses. This timeline can be shortened if the coach opts to take their courses via home study, however please note that NCCP Performance Planning and NCCP Advanced Practice Planning are not available as home study options.

Online Courses

Coach New Brunswick offers courses through two online learning platforms: Adobe Connect and Zoom. When you register for a course through the Locker, the registration page will indicate which platform will be used for that delivery.

In general, you can expect:

  • A respectful and inclusive learning environment
  • Group sizes are usually between 5 – 16 participants, with one or two facilitators guiding the group through learning activities and mini-lectures.
  • Please be prepared to participate in our workshops with enthusiasm and an open mind. NCCP courses are designed for interaction between different sports and different opinions, and we will expect that you share your thoughts with the group.
  • You will receive an email from Coach NB within 72 hours of the start of the course which will contain any material you require to participate in the course (work book, reference book, etc), the name & contact information of your facilitator, and the link required to join the course.
  • The Locker will send an automated reminder email a week before the beginning of the course. This email does not contain the materials or link to join.
  • We recommend you have a headset that plugs into the computer to eliminate audio feedback. A computer with a built-in microphone and speakers may suffice. We strongly recommend that you test your audio set up before joining the course to eliminate any echoing or feedback, as you will spend time in the course conversing with the facilitator and other participants.
  • We recommend you use a high speed internet connect to join the session.
  • Coaches must attend the full duration of the course to receive credit for the module.

In-person courses

At this time Coach NB is not scheduling general population in-person courses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Coach NB Team is still in operation and we will be working remotely for the foreseeable future. We will continue to deliver NCCP Remote delivery and coach training.

If you have a group between 4-10 people that are from the same sport organization and would like to organize an in-person course, please contact Gabriel Kim, Manager of Coach Education at gabriel@coachnb.ca to discuss.
