Nicole Smith is the newly appointed Principal at École Les Éclaireurs. Prior to her career as a Physical Education teacher in 2011, Nicole was actively involved in sport administration and has maintained her involvement as a volunteer. She was Chef de mission for Team NB at the 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2023 Canada Games.

Nicole was Director for the Community Non-Profit Organizations Secretariat for two years and previous to this position was the Executive Director of Sport New Brunswick, a position she held for 6 years. She has also been Executive Director for two of New Brunswick’s Sports Organizations, Ski NB and Velo NB. She has extensive experience serving on volunteer boards, such as l’Association des professionnel(le)s de l’éducation physique (APEP), Coach NB and the Canadian Women in Sport.

Nicole embarked on a new career path in 2010 and completed a Bachelor’s degree in Education at St. Thomas University in June 2011. Additionally, she majored in Recreation Administration at the University of New Brunswick, graduating with a Bachelor in Physical Education and Recreation in 1992. Nicole also holds a Master’s degree in Leisure Studies from Pennsylvania State University, which she earned in 1994.
