The North American Indigenous Games Is Coming To Atlantic Canada

“The largest multisport and Indigenous cultural event to ever be held in Atlantic Canada since contact.”

After a heartbreaking postponement in 2021 due to COVID, the North American Indigenous Games are back on track to be hosted in 2023 in Kjipuktuk (Halifax), Dartmouth, and Millbrook First Nation, Nova Scotia. Ashleigh speaks with Serene Porter, Director of Culture & Engagement on why these are some of the most impressive multisport games held in North America, what they mean to the athletes attending, and why everyone should be keeping this event on their 2023 summer calendar.

NAIG brings in more than 5000 athletes, coaches, and team staff, from 0ver 760 Indigenous Nations, and will require 3000 volunteers to help host. NAIG is set to take place July 15-23, 2023, and will need the help of all Atlantic Canadians to help make it a success.
