10th National Coaches Week. September 16-22, 2024. Coaching Association of Canada. Sport New Brunswick.

National Coaches Week is when we recognize the various coaches in our province – regardless of level – for their immeasurable positive impact in our communities. Sport NB Coaching is partnering with other organizations in the Sport NB family to bring valuable programming to coaches during NCW. This includes education from the National Coaching Certification Program, which is free for the month of September. These are fantastic opportunities for coaches to enrich their coaching acumen. Keep reading for this year’s offerings.

If you’re a part of a Provincial Sport Organization or a club and want to celebrate your coach(es) as a part of NCW, click here for instructions on how to do so.

Podium Performance Series | 9 to 2: A journey to the Olympic podium w/Jack Hanratty

Celebrate National Coaches Week with our first Podium Performance webinar of the year! We’re thrilled to host head coach of Canada’s women’s rugby 7s team (and recent Olympic silver medalist) Jack Hanratty for 9 to 2: the journey to the Olympic podium.

About the speaker:

Hanratty, a native of Skerries, Ireland, has a lengthy resume in the sport. Beginning his coaching career with his hometown Skerries RFC and at Skerries Community College, he rose to enjoy an over five-year stay as Rugby Development Officer and Community Rugby Officer in the professional ranks with Leinster Rugby from 2007-13. Hanratty further gained valuable experience at Dublin City University, Balbriggan RFC, and Railway Union RFC before moving to Canada in 2013.

Once arriving in Nova Scotia, Hanratty quickly rose to become a key figure in the operation and delivery of all Rugby Nova Scotia provincial programs for nearly a decade, leading the Keltics programs to outstanding success on national stages.

With Rugby Canada, outside of his work with the Sevens team, Hanratty has spent the past eight years working with various programs at the national level. This includes spending three years as the attack coach of the Senior Women’s XVs team, serving as head coach of the U20 women’s team, Academy Coach for the Atlantic Region, and as an assistant coach with the U18 men’s team.
